What I have written I have written

Some may have noticed changes made to this blog in the last few weeks. This venue has been renamed to Quod scripsi, scripsi, the famous phrase of Pontius Pilate pronounced after he unwittingly revealed Christ divinity before the Jewish religious authorities of that time. Pilate’s dictate appears in the Bible in John 19:20-22.

Many of the Jews read this inscription, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek. Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘This man said, I am King of the Jews.’” Pilate answered, “What I have written I have written” (Lat. “Quod scripsi, scripsi.”)

The idea of using those words came to me after some meditation. God used Pilate to mysteriously proclaim His Name from the Cross in spite of Pilate’s complete ignorance. Thus I thought the words very apropos to describe my work here. This blog simply happened many years ago. I was living in beautiful Virginia, at the time. Little did I know I was going to leave that lovely land to pursue new adventures so far away.

In the last few weeks a number of readers have asked me spontaneously to send donations. To all of them I send my heartfelt thanks. This blog is quite an inexpensive enterprise. God has been generous with me and I do not depend  on my writing to make a living or publish this blog. (2 Corinthians 2: 17) However, the cost of Internet services has been increasing. Donations are not strictly needed but they help defray expenses such as hardware, software, and my continuing education on the matters I share with all of you. It is really moving to receive those mails asking “How do I mail a small donation to you?” even after I removed the “Donations” page from the blog. All I can say to all of you is that God has made you part of my life by allowing many trials and travails but providing me with such loyal readers. I remind the Lord of your kindness every day and ask Him to multiply His blessings upon those who pray and contribute to keep this modest mission going.

As we clearly advance towards “the valley of shadows” I ask you one more time to multiply your prayers for me and my loved ones. For as long as God allows, this blog will be here. What I have written I have written. Thank you for reading it.

Quod legisti, legisti.

NOTE: I was informed that “Big Tech has established a new higher criterion for accepting emails, which eliminates from your inbox emails from small websites such as QuodScripsi.com EVEN when you subscribe to receive notifications.” Therefore, I encourage you to save the link to quodscripsi.com and visit the main page often to see if there are new articles posted.
