This short article is a commentary on Investor’s Business Daily editorial article of September 9, 2016 that a friend posted in my Facebook Wall today. It is worth investing a few minutes to read it.
A few days ago, a judge blocked the U.S. President from building a barrier to stop the drug trade, human trafficking, and illegal immigration into the territory of the most powerful country on earth. The Congress of the United States, the same that heard the voices of Thomas Jefferson, John Quincy Adams, and so many other great Americans, is currently stalling legislation that is urgently needed to fix the border crisis and so many other serious problems. The Democratic Party is the main resistance group to those and other presidential efforts. I am no political analyst by any stretch of the imagination but I think I can opine with some certainty that the crises are many but the problem is one: the so called Progressive Left.
If you read the IBF article mentioned above, you will notice that the author points at the fact that all the dilapidated cities in the US have “enjoyed” Democratic leadership for a long time. I am not going to repeat the premises of that article here. I am only going to add that inept and corrupt government administration are only a fraction of the notorious talents of the political left. They started ruining cities, regions, industries, etc. and lately they are graduating to the ruination of human communities: the black American families, babies in their mother’s wombs, infants and youth trusted to them for education and much more. The Democratic Party is only one of the many groups captured by the International Progressive Left. Their plan is to lay waste to the Western World. What they did to Detroit, they want to do to every country in the world and not only to every country: they are now aiming at the biological structure of our planet. Abortion and the inversion of every moral law are all aimed to destroy our bodies and souls, and eventually all life.
They have found the way to infiltrate even the most stalwart bastion of the Western World: the Roman Catholic Church. It is no surprise then that they could infiltrate City Hall, colleges, universities, chambers of commerce, civil associations, etc. Long ago they found they can destroy their objectives much more easily from the inside.
When I was writing Guadalupe A River of Light, I was greatly impressed by the words “Unless there is supernatural help, the country will be lost.” On one hand, we have to act. We cannot sit and watch the disaster unfold. On the other hand, we wonder what can we do to effectively make this plague stop. Praying for divine assistance should be the first priority.
RESPONSE TO MICHEL BÉLISLE
Thank you for your comment. Obviously this is something that transcends the U.S. border. Many wonder if this is the end of an age. I liked your insight on the shift to the left of those who actually belong to the upper echelons of society. Some of it touches me personally for a number of reasons but it is clear that those who pumped the money to the upper levels do not see the need to reinvest (like businessmen of the past did so successfully) in the markets or needs that exist as a result of changes in the economy. The distortion is moral, and we know who is interested in the inversion of moral values. Father Paiement was absolutely right. Something’s got to give. A correction is urgently needed but it may even be too late for that.

Thank you Carlos for this article.
The problem of Detroit, we can watch it unfolding here in Canada also.
The town where I live in Québec was called 40 years ago the Pulp and Paper Capital of the world. Now half of the paper mills have closed and the remaining ones are operating with fewer workers.
So, all the working neighborhoods have been degrading, many houses abandoned and social problems have been growing; people with children left for the suburbs where there are less problems.
Father Paiement, a holy catholic priest now in Heaven, told the people here 30 years ago that we were on the wrong path, underlining that it was in the poorest socio-economic groups that you have the more loneliness and the less children and that it cannot go like this forever without an explosion of some sort.
But the poor people who cannot work anymore in the paper mills are just trying to survive now and they think only in terms of survival and not in terms of revolt in one way or another against this unjust situation. They do not even vote knowing it won’t change anything.
And the comfortable financially people (these one vote) who were from the progressive-left a couple of years ago are now turning to the right, not morally but in the sense of more security for themselves and harsher measures against welfare recipients and that kind of things.
Those comfortable people are applauding the provincial government in Québec who wants to remove the Crucifix from the parlement in Québec City.
Yes, they seem to be destroying everything outside of themselves.
And yes, the only thing left seems to be prayer, especially the Holy Rosary.
It was written that near the end, it would be similar to the days of Noah. Sadly, I think we are there.
Thank God Carlos for your great faith!

The older among today’s post WWII generations have seen the slippage from a fairly decent society, far from perfect, but in which divorce and abandonment of children to a new and fresh sexual relationship was almost unheard of, shocking to the ear, unimaginable to the young. As a child I heard my parents discussing just such a rupture, but not the “new” part. Back then even the word “cancer” was censored, as America seems today to have been living in a cuccoon of, by the 1960’s condemned as “outdated” and cruel limitations based on a thoroughly negative view of mankind. Women especially were suppressed unfairly by “Victorian” sexual mores. All were being held down from a higher, greater “fulfillment” based largely on emotion. From rare to commonplace went the destruction of the family, the rise of the welfare—and police—states as society began its seemingly unstoppable collapse.
Detroit is just uglier, larger than the thousands of emptying out small communities and neighborhoods in the U.S. We can point to many sources, the “media” and “government schools and colleges” being formost. But how about government itself? God-like Supreme Court decisions, making divorce easy, Urban “Renewal” and forced national, racial and ethnic mixing rise to the top among many forces working to eradicate our former weak and divided notion of a Christian order with a constitutionally limited government
You can win a war quickly but it takes generations to ruin a culture. The question now? Is it possible that God wants this, the U. S. of A. and the rest of the “developed” world—now racing to destruction and bringing even the less developed world down in its wake—to be saved?
God love you,
Mike Smith

C-MARIE:
Yes, the problem is sin. It is important to do reparation. Fasting + prayer big time! Sin has its agents and its victims. We fight against the instigators in the spiritual realm. In the words of the angel seen in the visions of Fatima: “Penance! Penance! Penance!”
I know Jefferson was no saint. God often writes straight on crooked lines, people say. I lived in Albemarle Co. and visited Monticello in several occasions. Complex man. Borges called him “The architect of Democracy and the democrat of architecture.” Arguably one of the best things one can say about the man. Looking back to those days one can say that God must have directed those men somehow. Without the US, the French Revolution would have spread its terror and desolation to the whole world. Imperfect as those men where (very, very imperfect in some instances) they managed to leave a legacy that kept a crazy world going even under the danger of self-annihilation that came centuries later. How awesome is God’s power that can use even such imperfect tools for His unfathomable purpose!

Seriously, who can say anything after C-Marie? I was formulating ideas as I read your (excellent) article, but after reading her faithful and insightful, not to mention articulate reply…. there a few of my pithy ideas were laid out and much better said. The Enemy has virtually full control of the corrupt Democrat Party, all I could think of was this fight is no longer political but against Principalities and Powers. The only response is, as you and C-Marie assert, prayer and fasting. Good works and the example of good living are also necessary and powerful tools in God’s hands; He can do much with little if He chooses.

The base problem in America, is sin….. Leaving Jesus Christ, God’s Son… mothers killing their unborn and born children….legal same sex marriage…..drugs……men not supporting their children…..and avoiding marriage but using its gifts…
All through the years, sin has been present in the Catholic Church by way of the Church System of mankind….meaning….see the judgments by Jesus in the Book of Revelation….there have always been those within the Catholic Church, who have worked to draw those who belong to Christ, away from Him……Pope Benedict has spoken of sins in monasteries and convents……we know who is the prince of this world….and always he has had and has, many working with and for him.
It is not only the Progressives causing trouble, but theirs are the largest because they promote sin overall. When we choose to be our own god, when we choose that which we know we ought not, we, ourselves, are aiding the enemy. Let us keep on growing up in Jesus Christ our Lord, our God, our Saviour, and that will greatly influence those around us. And, it might be a cause for martyrdom, if it be God’s will.
See 2 Corinthians 11: 3-4
“But I fear lest, as the serpent seduced Eve by his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted and fall from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Christ, whom we have not preached; or if you receive another Spirit, whom you have not received; or another gospel, which you have not received: you might well bear with him.”
What is happening now is much more public……but has been in existence…..look at the co-dependency groups and counseling…..the molesting of children within Catholic families……which families, outwardly, appear wonderful.
So, what do we do? We pray and witness to Him we have seen and heard…..we have not the physical presence of Christ as His Apostles did, but we do have now, as Jesus and our Father give us these days by the Holy Spirit. We daily live the two great commandments with the helps of God and be instant to share our life with God as He lets us know, when, where, and to whom. We pray for the people in the caravans, their countries, the U.S. people at the border. And we know that unless the United States returns to Jesus Christ……..
And, re: Thomas Jefferson… God did some works by way of him, but Mr. Jefferson did the following:
The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth, was completed in 1820 by cutting and pasting with a razor and glue numerous sections from the New Testament as extractions of the doctrine of Jesus. Jefferson’s condensed composition excludes all miracles by Jesus and most mentions of the supernatural, including sections of the four gospels that contain the Resurrection and most other miracles, and passages that portray Jesus as divine.
God bless, C-Marie

I just heard Mark Levin on Hannity say this: “They [the Democrats] want to turn the whole country into their failed cities …” I’m glad I posted this earlier or I’d be accused of stealing Mark Levin’s ideas. :D

Amen. Not much more to say, other than
“Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.
Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.” (St. Teresa of Avila)
